MY MAIDEN VOYAGE TO NORTH INDIA – PART II

Nothing can disturb my slumber, never again! Except the fact that in case I didn't get down at Jhansi station because I overslept forgetfully. Alas! But these groundless questions had nothing to do with my sleep, since I had confirmed it the previous day more than thrice I could remember like the rhyme learnt by an LKG kid. The response from the TTR added music to my ear, “Day after tomorrow”. It’s confirmed and I don’t have to panic for the next 24 hours and so I slept serenely.
It was dawn and I know it for sure due to the constant rooster alarm by the pantry workers bellowing, ‘Garam Chaay’, ‘Vadaa’, ‘Samosa’ etc early in the morning. It was irritating in the beginning, but later my inquisitiveness made me to open my eyes, just to ensure what’s happening around. Everything seems to be usual- Same People! Same luggage and it’s still there safe and sound. What more valuable reasons do you need to sleep once again, and I did sleep indeed!

MY MAIDEN VOYAGE- TO NORTH INDIA

The moment my steadfast mind digs into any part or clue that relates to the year 2005, it narrows down to this one particular incident that has a left a deep impact in my heart. Yes, it was 4th January, 2005 and I know that for sure. How would you ever forget your first day in an express train that too your maiden trip to North India? My curiosity precedes my fear after hearing bundles of advices and prejudices about North India and North Indians. For instance, “Never step out of a train”; “Never trust anyone, or else they may kidnap you, cut your limbs, make you beg” etc. It happened a decade ago and I do have the right to fear, Haven’t I?

SWOT Analysis - A Key to Success

The world we live in has changed drastically in the recent years; both in building and in destroying the human lives. We too are a part of it either the former or the latter. “The two most important days are the day you are born and the day you find out why?” says Mark Twain. But how many of us are truly finding the latter part? Not many. Just imagine how our life would be if compared to a journey. Travelling with all green signals, without any hurdles will make our journey swift, but not in safe hands. To travel safe, we need few red signals, few speed breakers on the way. Yes, we live our life as if there is no death at all. We do things without knowing the sole purpose.

“NOW I KNOW WHAT I DID NOT KNOW BEFORE”

My experience of the First ever YCS YSM National Convention at Bhopal, May 2014.

“I am part of all that I met in my life”

It is with immense pleasure and with wholehearted gratitude that I am penning down my experience in the first ever YCS YSM National Convention, Bhopal. As I recollect how the Conventional dream became a reality started in a small discourse with the National Chaplain! It still flashes in my mind and I could still remember that it was October 2010, after participating in the VIII National Youth Convention of ICYM in Shillong, Fr Charles came back to the National Office and told me, “We too need a convention for YCS YSM”. The sands of time flowed steadily and it was 2013, after the NYC Jalandhar, Fr Charles expressed, “What do you say Leo, We should have one right?” And WE HAD ONE!!!

Thank God, I am still a Bachelor

It’s a spring time, green everywhere, flowers pouring down like rain drops. The sun slowly peeping out to give its attendance to the world. How lucky am I to walk along the lonely road with my lady love with just two days for our holy matrimony. The much awaited day arrived and our two hearts started to beat as one and in the days and my better half was lying beside me holding my hands and placing her head above my chest to hear her heart beat. Everything looks like a dream come true to me and meanwhile I opened my eyes. The time is 2.30 am and I went back to sleep with a relief saying, “Thank God, it’s just a dream and I'm still a bachelor”.

Tears are Beautiful

If you would call a place, with four walls, scattered clothes, dislocated things a room then I was sitting in my room. Gladinaa my 3 year old cute cousin was comfortably sitting in her mother’s lap slowly sneaked to my room, came right in front of me and I could hear her saying “vada”. She still remembers it which she ate the previous day. Gradually her request turned into an order and ended with a loud cry: “vathaa”. Without knowing what to do, I gave her a piece of ‘Jangery’. I very well knew that she would love it, but my assumption ended in smoke and the sweet landed right on my face. After a few seconds of silence we heard the loud cry again, saying “vathaa”. We all laughed looking at her innocence and her tears are beautiful.

The Speech I loved the most...

One of the most famous and shortest speeches ever recorded in the history…                                                Inspired during a coffee conversation with my friends at Loyola College, Chennai
[A new flagpole is being dedicated, Lincoln takes a piece of paper from inside his hat starts reading from it, addressing the crowd]
“The part assigned to me is to raise the flag, which, if there be no fault in the machinery, I will do, and when up, it'll be for the people to keep it up.”
[he puts the paper away back in his hat]
Abraham Lincoln: That’s my speech.
[Lincoln smiles and the crowd laughs and claps for him and he starts raising the flag]

The Great Lincoln

Is your Inner Child Muddy or Golden?

The Golden Buddha
This story will help to take care of one’s Inner Child the SELF…

Is your inner child, Muddy? or Golden? … Find out…
In 1957, a group of Tibetan monks were informed that a highway was being built and the highway would have to go through the location where the shrine for which they were responsible was currently located. The shrine, a huge clay Buddha, would have to be moved. Arrangements were made and the day of shrine moving arrived. The shrine, located under a roof to keep it safe from the elements, was prepared for its journey. A crane began lifting the clay Buddha. The Buddha, as it rose off of its block resting place, began to crack. IT was far heavier than all the engineers had estimated. The monk supervising the movement of the Buddha frantically called to the crane operator. Telling him to set the Buddha down. Quickly, the alert crane operator carefully set the Buddha on the ground. As the monks and the engineers examined the Buddha, they found several large cracks. A larger crane would be needed. That crane would not be brought in until the next day. The Buddha would have to spent the night in its current location. To make matters worse, there was a storm building and the next would be a stormy one.

The Never Ending Journey

Written this testimony soon after the XVI National Council in Shillong as a gratitude towards my movement and the National Executive Committee members of 2010- 2014.
Narrowing down the memory lane, as it goes back to the year of which I became a part of this eternal movement, I could just smile and say, “That was an accident and I still love that accident”. Yes! I accidentally became the member of YCS YSM and when I call to mind now, It’s no more an accident but through Providence that I am still part of this immortal movement.
The one and only question which I ask myself endlessly is that who else would I have become if I haven’t met my guide, mentor, counselor and friend named YCS YSM. Certainly I would have done so many things but never ever would have Become Somebody as I am right now. From the very first day, till now our movement accompanied me throughout my journey: the joys, sorrows, problems, loneliness, confusions, disappointments, successes, failures, happiness, tears and what not! And I know that my friend will be there when my journey comes to an end too.

If I want to teach you???

Children's love is contagious!!!
Together Let’s make the whole world SMILE

“If I want to teach you Math,

First I have to know YOU (not math)”
Children are unique. They can never be considered as a photocopy of the other. Their minds are as pure as gold. The value of gold depends on its purity which will help none. The teachers must carefully choose the alloy they are going to mix with the gold and that’s what gonna matter the most. Their future and their vision lies with the teachers and the way we mould them to be. With proper love and guidance with the knowledge of the subject, the young minds can become somebody who has never been. They can be better than the best. It’s all possible only if we…

Remember and follow the mantra:

“If I want to teach you Science,

First I have to know YOU (not Science)”

So Learn them, teach them, guide them and they will become much more than what we have dreamt them to be.

I Don't Know

This little poem of mine was written ages before. May look so simple but close to my heart for the very reason that this was my first English poem.

I don't know how I was born
Neither I know how I'll die
I don't know who I was
I don't know who I'll be
Who am I?
I don't know…

I don't know whom I love
Neither I know who loves me
What’s love?
I don't know
I don't know, because…
I don't want to know
